Sunday Service

For the time being please join us for weekly services on your Youtube page. We hope to see you in person soon!

Live virtual worship services

Now that the temperatures are dropping outside, SALC has moved to live virtual worship services via Zoom.

Registering for live virtual worship

Click here to register for SALC live virtual worship services. It’s that easy! You need only register once to attend any service.

You can also register by clicking on the “Online Event” link within any of the Sunday worship service Events posted on the SALC Facebook page.

Finally, if you are on the SALC mailing list, you will receive an email with the same registration link during the week. Please call the office to find out how you can be added to our church distribution list.

Please note: registration is per household device logging into the Zoom meeting, not the number of people attending.

Guidelines/Tips

What is Zoom and how do I use it?

If you are struggling with all this Zoom language, and looking for some guidance on how to even access Zoom invitations, this is a very helpful guide to folks of all ages.

Communion during live virtual worship

We will be celebrating the Eucharist during our live Zoom worship each week. We affirm that God is at work in the consecration of the elements. What you will need to have ready at home are:

Bread: when Jesus broke the bread and said “my body, given for you”, he used the bread that would have been present at most meals in the ancient world. You are invited to use the bread, crackers, or even tortillas that your family regularly uses at mealtime. Please do not use chips or cookies.

Wine: we will be using red wine at the altar in the sanctuary, and invite you to use a red table wine, or a pure grape juice. Please do not use soda/pop, milk, or other beverages. If you do not have wine or juice, the bread is enough! That’s called Communion In One Kind, and is a common practice for many communities.

If you need both or either of these elements, please let Pr Jenna or Anita know, and we will make sure you have access to the prepackaged communion items we have at the church. They come with a wafer and a thimble of grape juice.

What if I need help during the service?

Join early on Sunday and see tips at the beginning for getting help.

Recorded worship services

Can’t fit Sunday morning live virtual worship into your schedule? No sweat – we’ve got you covered. Each Sunday at least one service is recorded and posted on the SALC YouTube channel

Offeratory

At this time we ask you to give whatever you can. St. Andrew Lutheran’s missions reach out in many ways to our community, and we can’t do it without your ongoing support.

Deuteronomy 16:16b, 17 – “They shall not appear before the LORD empty-handed. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God that He has given you.”
